The Pomeranian University of Science and Technology comprehensively implements the tasks of improving the study programme and enhancing the quality of education. The basis for their implementation is, among others, Order No. 2/2022 of the Rector of the Pomeranian University of Higher Education in Starogard Gdański of 16.02.2022 on the introduction of the Educational Quality Assurance System at the Pomeranian University of Higher Education in Starogard Gdański (bip.twojestudia.pl). The tool for the implementation of the pro-quality policy of the Pomeranian University of Science and Technology in the field of student education in all fields of study is the Educational Quality Assurance System (EQAS). Internal procedures ensure the verification and evaluation of the effectiveness of all factors influencing the quality of education.
The education quality policy includes an analysis of study programmes, including learning outcomes and the system for their verification, syllabuses, internal and competitive benchmarks, stakeholder opinions, surveys, institutional and organisational conditions for the operation of the education process, including the availability and equipment of teaching rooms and the education process.
Procedures for the verification of learning outcomes include the evaluation of stage work, professional student placements and the graduation process, as well as the monitoring of the professional fate of graduates.
The procedures for the functioning of the system include an analysis of the effectiveness of the internal system for ensuring and improving the quality of education. The collected information is subjected to formulation of practical conclusions that may lead to pro-quality changes in the educational process. The collected and structured knowledge is disseminated to stakeholders, which serves to initiate, within the PSW, discussions on the quality of education and monitors the effectiveness of pro-quality solutions applied at the PSW.
The entities implementing the tasks of the QMS are: The Education Quality Committee (EQC), the Vice-Chancellor for Education, the Stakeholder Council, the Careers Office, academic staff and other teaching staff, administrative staff and the student government.
As part of the Educational Quality Assurance System at PSW, a systematic evaluation of the effectiveness of the internal quality assurance system is carried out, and the results are used to improve the quality assurance policy and build a culture of educational quality. The educational quality system in place has an impact on the high level of the courses delivered ensuring the transmission of the necessary knowledge, skills and social competences.
